In anticipation of World Down Syndrome Day, which is on March 21st, there’s a new website called “A Day in the Life with Down Syndrome” which highlights stories of individuals of all ages with Down syndrome. The idea of the site is to show what everyday life is like for someone, whether they are a baby, a child, or an adult, with Down syndrome. It helps to spread awareness, especially to those who may not personally know anyone with Down syndrome. These stories, specifically the ones about the babies, would have been very useful for me if this website existed while I was pregnant since I knew nothing about everyday life with Down syndrome. Geneva’s post is here. At first I was worried that her everyday life story for the website would be boring, but then I realized that maybe that’s the point.
